1994Unpacked her packages, packaged up  remains. Gap grins, corrugated, caught  in box corners. Breathed dust and skin  
and choked. Fourteen boxed light  bulbs in the closet. Eight saltwater  taffies under the bed. Sixteen copies  of a letter in sixteen hands.  Four boxes of rubber gloves on the toilet.  No one could probe she was there.  Washed down walls and scrubbed floorboards,  woodwork free of fingerprints.  Saved everything she saved,  hoards of conflicted holy items,  soaps packaged by colour and content.  Her body stared at the scar under my eye.  Save it, hide i 1994

Ten Views of The OceanI.  After three years, my father is curled onto his side, knees to elbows. Treats his bed like his mother's belly.   
II.  They're saying now that we came from water. Whales are the only ones who went back from it.  
 
III.  When I breath in the rooms smells sharp, salt and antiseptic.   
IV.  Something squirms in the wet sand stretching across my feet, squirms sixteen legs and tumbles, cloudy grey, into the waves.   
V.  I can still see the ocean in my father's eyes. I know that water wears away everything. Are the signs of it showing when the salt water slips from his eyes? &n Ten Views of The Ocean

When she was small, she’d reach up to me, hands grasping like the sea and eyes wet with salt, wordless. We watched her grasp the scraps of wood we floated in her bath, the faceless dolls we balanced on them. Her body made the tub mimic the ocean the way her hands did. Tiny figures tumbled, toppled by feet and fingers, onto smooth white plastic, and she laughed like waves crashing. It didn’t worry us until she got older, until she could talk, when she told us that the figures on the boat were drowning because the sea was angry. Our eyes met and skimmed across the books we read to her, the stories of Zeus and Aphrodite, the stor Rhea

Hmm. So thanks to lilyinwhite, and my love of sailor moon, I gotta do this.

Fist ten poeple rto respond get a piece of art of their choosing. I'll do drawing/photos/writing, whatever, I guess, although I'll probably take the "quick and crappy" road (as in, you'll get a two line couplet about cheese rather than a page-long piece about, say, some chick with lesbian parents who thinks that she's the mother of the gods and she takes a bunch of drugs, unless you specify otherwise or I happen to feel like it.)

So! I don't really expect to get ten whole people doing this, but comment away.

Incidentilly, I am going CAMPING and so will not be here for the next week. This will be a surprise for me!
